MY FATHER’S FATHER IS NOT MY GRANDFATHER

"My Father's Father is not my Grandfather" (2014). In this series I explore the value of time on the meaning of the image. I examine the father-child relationship usually left in the background after the one built by the mother, taking as starting point the non-existent relationship between my father with his father.

I used digital montage of photographs of my father during his childhood. These are collected in the family album where my mother and my father document their lives before they met each other. My father's father was replaced by fabrics of my father's ties, whose patterns evoke playful and childish innocence; present in the images, lost in his youth and recovered with the constitution of their own family. The circle closes.

They used to be happy!
